Driver Training

Driving forklift trucks requires specialised training and instruction from qualified trainers. This can prevent accidents ensuring complete safety to both drivers and pedestrians. It also helps to reduce truck downtime, racking damage and product damage. To drive any forklift truck correctly requires training in a classroom and in a hands-on environment, thus ensuring things run as smoothly as possible once the candidates have passed successfully.

Under the Health and Safety at Work Act employers have a duty to ensure all fork lift operators have had adequate training. AFL Trucks can provide on site and off site driver training for all types of lift trucks including:

. Counterbalance, Diesel, L.P.G. and Electric

. Warehouse Equipment

. Pedestrian Equipment

. Rough Terrain

. Articulated Fork Trucks

There is a maximum of three trainees to one instructor on each course and all our training programs meet the Approved Code of Practice of the Health and Safety Executive.

The duration of the training is determined by the ability of the trainee to achieve a test standard. We also carry out driver assessments that will enable us to tailor the course to meet the individual needs of each driver.

Typical Courses Offered:

. Novice Training (no previous experience)

. Basic Training (experience, but no formal training)

. Refresher Training (certified operators)

. Conversion Course: for current certified operators wishing to convert their skills to a new forklift type.

If you would like to book a course please contact us by telephone or email.
